Twenty-one second- and third-year Pharm.D. students and a faculty member have been inducted into VCU School of Pharmacy’s Beta Nu chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma.

PLS is a national pharmacy leadership society that promotes leadership within the profession, especially among students. The 2015 initiation ceremony took place March 4 at Roma Ristorante Italiano in Henrico.

“I am very excited to see such a strong group of students inducted into PLS this year,” said chapter president Ben Iredell. “As the pharmacy leadership society on campus, we dedicate time to promoting leadership and professionalism throughout the school, and I look forward to seeing how these 14 students of the class of 2017 will continue the tradition.”

Congratulations go to the newest student members of Phi Lambda Sigma: P2s Alison Baumgartner, Allyson Cuddy, Dien Tu, Erin Hickey, Heather  Morris, Heather Savage, Holly Spitler, Jeffrey McKenzie, Julia Lea, Kalyann Kauv, Kyle Mullins, Meghan Zukowsky, Philip Jan and Skylar White; and P3s Aulbrey Drisaldi, Courtney Crocker, Crystal Leibrand, Emily Hartley, Emma Stafford, Jessica Cerullo and Thuy Tran. Assistant professor Emily Peron was inducted, as well.

Also on hand were professor David Holdford, PLS advisor; Dean Joseph T. DiPiro; Tom Reinders, associate dean for admissions and student services; and Ron Ballentine, assistant director of admissions and student services.

Elections for Phi Lambda Sigma’s 2015-16 Executive Board will take place March 31.
